Preparing for the Afghan Election…
Today we met with elders from the Hud Kheel village to review the polling places for this week’s national election in Afghanistan. The elder on my right is Haji Mozamal. He is running for Parliament (Their version of Congress). The elder on my left is Abjab Gul. He is a former Mujahedin that fought the Russians in the 1980′s. Afghan’s go to the polls on September 18 to exercise their right to vote.

I have to agree with Alan!
I always like photos of you and Beau. The contrast of facial expressions says it all. I don’t know Beau, but I already “agree” with him (especially in this photo).
They look absolutely thrilled that your arms are around them. Did you give them the wiggle finger when you shook their hands, too?
Chris;
We take for grant the right to vote. There they have to fight for the right to vote. How blessed as a country we are and most do not excerise their right to vote. How sad. Annette
